Tips for Choosing a Dentist in Seattle

If you’re looking for a new dental home for you and your family, what features are important? You want a place that offers the treatments you need, a comfortable environment, and a qualified, caring staff. Here are four tips to keep in mind:

1. Look at the List of Services

All dental clinics offer a variety of services, but it’s a good idea to take a closer look before visiting. Do they have children’s dentistry and cosmetic dentistry in addition to the standard preventative and restorative services? What kind of technology do they use? At Reen Chung, DDS, we use digital X-rays, intraoral cameras, and an Isolite patient comfort system. We also see patients for emergencies!

2. Check Out the Office Environment

Going to the dentist is an anxiety-inducing experience for a lot of people. The office vibe can play a big role in reducing or increasing that anxiety. At our clinic, we offer amenities that make you feel at home, like a complimentary beverage station and WiFi.

3. Look at the Dentist’s Education

All dentists must meet certain requirements, but not all dentists are the same. Do they have any extra education or specialization in a treatment you might need? Dr. Chung graduated cum laude from La Sierra University and attended Loma Linda University School of Dentistry. While there, he earned an award from his instructors!

4. Understand Your Financial Options

Will the dental clinic accept your insurance plan? Do they have an in-house membership option if you’re uninsured or underinsured? These are important questions to answer before visiting a dentist. At our office, we accept a variety of insurances, including Aetna, Cigna, and Washington Dental Service. Our in-house membership costs $450 for the year and includes all X-rays, 2 exams, and discounts on services.
